Meet Katlyn Heath, I-MFT

Hi! My name is Katlyn, I am the Owner and Founder of Restorative Wellness. A little about myself: after some time in the non-profit sector of clinical work, I began to work in partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient levels of care treating adults and adolescents suffering from severe eating disorders including Anorexia, Bulimia, and ARFID. I opened Restorative Wellness in 2018, after realizing that there were limited options for specialized outpatient clinical care for teens and families in our community.

As a family therapist, and a parent myself, I have the utmost empathy for what parents, caregivers, and partners are facing when it comes to their own mental health let alone caring for the mental health of another. Depression, anxiety, eating disorders, endured trauma, mood disorders, and any culmination thereof can and will isolate us from those we love, and from ourselves. That loneliness perpetuates a narrative that we’re in this alone; when in fact you are not alone in your experiences.

Teenage years undoubtedly shape us into the people we become, and they can be incredibly isolating. Even amongst a large group of friends, a sense of emotional loneliness can linger. Deadlines, consistent change, and external pressures can mount on a teen; and having a safe place to process can be an essential piece of the mental health maintenance puzzle [for teens and for parents!].

The values of consistency, competency, and specialized care are the foundations upon which Restorative Wellness was built. Each clinician that I invite to join our team is a clinical pillar of their communities, and I am so honored to call them my teammates. We each value a HAES approach to our clinical work, and are always self-assessing how we can continue to enhance our own [and our community’s] perspectives on health at every size.

Whether you’re here for yourself or a loved one, I’m just so glad you’re here.
